Protec Alarm System

SUZOHAPP developed the Protec battery-operated alarm unit to reduce and discourage theft of machines holding cash, even when turned off without power.

The Protec alarm unit is connected to a door switch to detect door opening and closing, and also includes a built-in accelerometer to detect movement of the machine, without using an external tilt switch. The battery is recharged automatically when powered-on.

When an alarm is active, the attached siren is powered with 9Vdc, giving a loud signal. The optional relay on the board can be used to attach other alarming devices. The siren is turned off automatically after approximately 2 minutes, and the armed state is entered again.

Manual and automatic arming/disarming is supported with a key switch or push button. Warning beeps may be enabled if the door is closed without arming. Various alarm delays are supported.

Installation is easy in existing machines, as the device is independent with no interface needed to existing hardware or software.

Applications include slot machine security, change machines, etc. for both OEM and aftermarket installations.
